Visit Us

Pateley Bridge is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is the ideal place to visit at any time of the year with lots to do and see for all the family.

We’re very proud of the various accolades that Pateley Bridge has received…

In 2016, Pateley Bridge won the Great British High Street Award, a government-run competition. In 2019, RHS’s Britain in Bloom competition, Pateley Bridge received a Gold medal for the Best Large Village. We’ve also been voted 3 years in a row as one of the best places to live via The Sunday Times' Best Places to Live in Britain guide.

It doesn’t stop there! We’ve also enjoyed being part of the Tour de France route and following on from that event, we were part of the Tour de Yorkshire.

There have been (and will continue to be) many other events held in Pateley Bridge throughout the year, including 1940s weekend events, our very special Christmas event, the Nidderdale Food Festival, and the last agricultural show in the area which is always held in September on the showground.

We’re also very fortunate to have so many fascinating places to visit and enjoy here in Pateley Bridge. Nidderdale Museum has previously won The Queen’s Award for Community. We also have our very own Playhouse. There’s our popular play park that has received generous funding for rubber mats with safety in mind. We have a bowling green, a bandstand with performances held in the summer months, a popular caravan site, Stump Cross Caverns (nearby), How Stean Gorge (nearby), two award-winning butchers on the High Street, the Studfold Adventure Trail (nearby), Nidderdale Pool & Leisure Centre, and The Oldest Sweetshop In The World which was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2014!

Our very own, Keith Tordoff (wife of Gloria), has been Chairman of the Nidderdale Chamber of Trade and Chair of the Pateley Bridge in Bloom group throughout this period and has a very active role in the community.
